Zac Efron was born on October 18, 1987 in San Luis Obispo, California. His mother Starla, father David, and brother Dylan later moved to Arroyo Grande, California.
He is an American singer and dancer, and also began acting early in the 2000s. When Zac was 11, his father encouraged him to try acting. He later appeared in a number of productions at his high school and began to work in a theatre named The Great American Melodrama and Vaudeville, and he also took singing lessons. In 2001, Efron completed a course at the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts. Zac's drama teacher, Robyn Metchik, recommended him to an agency and he soon signed up with the Creative Artists Agency. After graduating from high school in Arroyo Grande, he deferred an offer of a place at the University of Southern California, as he was working on a number of film projects. |
